HERBERT; and daughters Elizabeth HORNER, Mary CHANDLER, Nandy HARRIS and
Lucy HELMORE. |

| Anthony APPLEGATE was born about 1750 and died on 25 December
1776 in Middlesex County, New Jersey. He served in Captain Peter Perrin's
Company, 3rd Regiment, Middlesex County militia between 1750 and 1755. Anthony
APPLEGATE was murdered, as attested to in and Inquisition taken on 6 June
1779 and signed by twelve men who confirmed seeing his dead body. They testified
that he was shot "thro the body" and that the gunman was "unknown
in the county at that time." |
